Learning Management Systems: Blackboard

I will be introducing some of the webtools that may be beneficial for teachers and students as a series under the title ‘Teaching On – Line’. I hope you like it.

In recent years virtual learning environments are replacing the traditional education systems. Blackboard is one of the e- learning platform where the teachers and students met. Blackboard is a collaborative virtual learning environment unlike the tools with only single purpose such as GoogleDocs etc.

I can say that Blackboard makes the teaching and learning journey easier than before. Why? Because it is not only one-sided education platform. What I mean by saying that is, Blackboard is a learning system which enables the teachers and the students to access the course information and course materials along with a chance to communicate through e-mails, announcements, discussion boards, and podcasts.

How the system works?

• Blackboard assess students’ existing knowledge.

• It supports collaboration.

• It evaluates learners’ goal.

It is really easy to catch up the courses, assignments and even the grades with Blackboard.
